I lie still, staring upward, my eyes tracing the faint cracks across the ceiling tiles. They form shapes if you look long enough—lines that intersect, patterns that almost tell stories. In a place where movement is limited and time feels suspended, even something as simple as a ceiling becomes a source of distraction, even comfort.
