Most mornings begin the same way.

We immediately provided fresh water, a comfortable place to rest, and plenty of reassurance.
The dog seemed grateful to be out of its unexpected hiding place.
Finding the Owner
Although the dog was friendly, it clearly belonged to someone.
The collar confirmed that it wasn’t a stray.
We checked local community groups, contacted nearby residents, and shared information with neighbors.
Before long, we located the owner.
The dog’s name was Lulu.
According to her family, she had wandered away during the storm and somehow managed to begin an adventure nobody could have predicted.
When her owner arrived, Lulu’s reaction left no doubt that she had found the right person.
She immediately ran over and jumped into the vehicle, thrilled to be heading home.
A Story We Still Laugh About
Even now, it’s hard to believe the entire situation actually happened.
Most homeowners expect to find dust, tools, or construction debris during a renovation.
Very few expect to discover a dog poking its head through the floor.
The experience reminded me how unpredictable life can be.
